Ethan Alexander Jewett, MDiv, MA
Executive Director

Ethan (he/him) comes to DMAX Foundation with over twenty years’ experience as a nonprofit executive, youth advocate, and health policy professional.

Originally from Tampa, Florida, Ethan received a Bachelor of Arts degree in French Language and Literatures from Kalamazoo College in Michigan, and following graduation, served as a Fulbright Teaching Fellow in an international high school in Paris. He later earned a Master of Arts degree and did doctoral work in French Language and Literatures at the University of Chicago.

Following his time in academia, Ethan spent ten years conducting health policy, child advocacy, and health services research at the American Academy of Pediatrics. Before locating to Philadelphia in July 2022, he served as the Executive Director/CEO of Corazón Community Services, a social services agency that offers after-school programming and sexual health services to low-income, at-risk Latinx youth and young adults.

In 2012, Ethan obtained his Master of Divinity degree from Chicago Theological Seminary and was ordained as a priest in the Episcopal Church. He currently serves part-time as Rector of St. George St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, an African American/Afro-Caribbean parish in Philadelphia.

Ethan is eager to foster innovation to promote greater mental health and overall well-being among college students, including within communities of color and among LGBTQ+ folk. As a personal trainer and natural bodybuilder, Ethan has a strong commitment to holistic health and has spent his professional career helping children, adolescents, and young adults to thrive. Ethan is an avid Trekkie and sci-fi nerd, and enjoys traveling, visiting museums, and cycling along the Schuylkill River trail with his partner, Jonathan.
